Major Enhancement to GotoWebinar Integration

Recently we had some very big industry players join our ranks and become clients. These guys are BIG and if I were to name drop (sorry, we don't do that), I can guarantee you that you'd all know them. They're regularly hitting the GotoWebinar limitation of 1000 attendees and frequently have as many as 10,000 registrants. Pretty cool, huh?

Well, considering our average GotoWebinar users only has about 127 attendees and about 329 registrants, these much larger numbers hit our system pretty tough the first time. We weathered the storm, but it wasn't pretty.

Why Am I Telling You This?

For a couple of reasons. First off, to let you know “we're not perfect”. Any software platform will face occasional challenges just like you face challenges in your business every day. But just like Rocky says, “it's not about how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you get up!” And as long as you always get up just one more time than you get knocked down, well, that's what persistence and determination are all about.

So… Nick, our Lead Developer and Co-Founder, worked relentlessly for about 18 hours straight and completely re-tooled the entire GotoWebinar Integration so that it now runs in parallel across 20 different servers. That's right. I told you we've made serious infrastructure investments here with MyFusion Helper and I wasn't kidding.

The result was a more than 100x improvement in performance in certain key areas of the GotoWebinar integration and the ability for us to scale with you no matter how many registrants or attendees you have. Besides that, however, it also shifted a lot of cycles off our main servers which will improve the overall performance and stability throughout the app (beyond just the GotoWebinar integration).

I know that in certain areas of the app it's still a little slow – please be patient with us. If you look carefully, you'll notice that some Helpers have a newer look and feel compared to others. We're systematically going through all of the Helpers – one-by-one – and retooling them to use a new architecture that is much faster. Many of them have already been completed and the rest will be in the weeks to come as we cycle through all of them.
